Resting on the southern shore of Norris Reservoir, Big Ridge State Park is a 3,687-acre park featuring the Big Ridge Lake. This smaller lake affords excellent summertime fishing, boating and swimming opportunities in its clear, cool water, and the surrounding land has campsites as well as single-bedroom cabins available for rentals in the summer. During the summer visitors can participate in weekly family-oriented nature walks, craft demonstrations and organized sports. This heavily wooded area has miles of hiking trails and is a 31-mile drive north of Knoxville, east of Norris Dam State Park.
